As co-coordinator of the working group ‘Political Philosophy’ of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), we have created a research project that delves into the theme of the relationships between the cosmos (understood as the socio-spatial dimension of existence), the body (as the human dimension that occupies and transforms this space), and utopia (understood as the capacity to imagine an alternative context that departs from immediate time-space but transcends it) to comprehensively understand ways of life and emancipatory actions from the interpretative frameworks provided by the humanities in the region.
The project revolves around the transformations of the last decades in the Latin American context and their relationship with the ways of acting-feeling-thinking that arise from the humanities in the current regional and global scenario, influenced by the development of digital capitalism. From a philosophical perspective, we propose an approach to the cosmos-body-utopia connections that is attentive to the present, without losing sight of its historical formation and its global and regional connections. This task will be carried out through collective reflection that goes beyond the academic world. We are participating in spaces of collective construction with groups of popular social mobilisation. What we seek is to expand our ways of feeling-thinking-acting in the humanities and how this manifest in the practices and knowledge that emerge from various Latin American imaginaries.
